February 2013

We started the month off with a pretty nasty cold.  The cold transformed into 2 ear infections for poor Addy (I have never seen her so miserable) and an ear infection for me as well.  After some visits to Urgent Care for both of us, we were back on the road to recovery just in time for some celebration.
We celebrated Charli's 3rd birthday, Valentine's Day, and started getting ready for Addy's Minnie Mouse birthday party.

Addy had most of her favorite people at her 3rd birthday party.  Nonnie, Papa, Titi Colleen, & Mormor all flew down from SF.  Add them to our friends and family from Southern CA and we had a party.  Addy had a great time and was so adorable dressed in her Minnie Mouse outfit.

Tim & I bought Addy a play house for her birthday and while he was here, Papa put the house together with the help of Titi Colleen & Uncle Rob.  It has given Addy hours upon hours of entertainment already.

January 2012

On January 3rd, we had our first doctor appointment for Baby #2.  It was just amazing the second time to see a little peanut with a heart beat.  Made me tear up.  Addy and Tim were both in the room and I think Addy was just as amazed as me.  She loves showing you how the heart looked on the screen with her hands.   Beautiful.

Right after our doctor appointment we headed out to Vegas to celebrate my 31st birthday.  My mom, Alison, Brad, Tim, Addy, & I all went and stayed at the Monte Carlo.  It was fun exploring the new City Center hotels that we had not visited last time we were in Vegas.

We also celebrated Alison's birthday and Mom's birthdays a couple of weeks after mine.  Unfortunately, on my mom's birthday my Uncle Arie passed away from cancer (that had only been diagnosed a few weeks earlier).   It was quite a shock to us to lose him so quickly, but I am very thankful that over Winter Break I was able to see Uncle Arie several times.  We will miss him greatly.

Alison also got the news that she would start chemotherapy in February.  While this was not unexpected news, as she was not feeling very well, it was still a blow.  I cannot even begin to tell you how devastating it is hear your younger sister will have to go through something as serious as chemotherapy.  Regardless, Alison prepared for chemo like a champ.
We also got to start planning Mandy & Tom's wedding.  With so many emotions with the loss of Uncle Arie and Alison's chemo, it was nice to start thinking towards something positive and fun, like a wedding of two wonderful and special people.  In January we went to a tasting for their food.  Addy loved the chocolate fountain.

December 2012-7 months late!

I cannot believe it has been 7 months since I last posted.  So many changes in our life and I am not sure I can do any of it justice.  I can't get those 7 months back, but I will definitely try to write about what I can remember.

December 2012
-Looks like I forgot to mention the newest addition to our family in November 2012, Violet.  Violet is a chihuahua/terrier mix we adopted from Helen Woodward.  Lily was very wary, but Violet has won her over since we got her.
-We had a great holiday season.  Addy helped me hang Christmas lights, decorate the tree, and even sat on Santa's lap twice (once at the Kiwanis party and again at the RB Christmas festival).  I know I have said this the last 2 years, but Christmas was so much more fun having her with us.
-Tim and I also found out we would be parents of 2!! We told our families on Christmas Day, but made them promise not to tell until after our first appointment at the beginning of January.
Love these three!! (@ the Fallbrook Christmas Parade)

Thanksgiving 2012

Every other Thanksgiving we are lucky enough to have two Thanksgivings.  One with my family and one with Tim's family.  It is so fun to see everyone all in one day and even though it is a kind of crazy day, it is totally worth it to see all of our family!  Thank you, Mom, Rob & Jill for hosting us this year!

Safari Park

Carolyn & Auntie KT were able to come visit with us before Thanksgiving.  To get out and take advantage of our beautiful weather, we went out to the Safari Park (aka Wild Animal Park).  Elise & Logan also joined us and we all had a great time.  So fun wandering around and looking at animals.  Good company too!

Diva

From dictionary.com:
Diva (n.): a distinguished female singer; prima donna.

Despite some disagreeing with me, I truly believe Addy thinks she is a diva.  Addy demands we listen to Disney Pandora in the car, she sings with all of her might, she commands an audience, and she is gracious enough to bow when she is done.  If we are home, she prefers to sing on her "stage" (aka our patio).  As much as her demands can drive me crazy, how can I not love this diva??  She is just so fun to watch!
