29

Tomorrow is my seemingly insignificant 29th birthday.  While I always have the "oh my goodness..when did I get to be (such and such year)?" thoughts, I cannot help but think about how this is my last year in my twenties.  My twenties have been great and I appreciate where I started my twenties and where I have ended up.  They have definitely shaped me into who I am.
But me, being me, I cannot help but think back to my list of things I wanted to accomplish before I was 30. You know me, forever the planner, and why 30? I don't really remember, but I think it was because I thought 30 was old (boy was I wrong!).  So, instead of looking at what I haven't accomplished, I am starting a list of what I accomplished and am going to publish it now. So over the next year, I can look at this list and remember what I have done over the last year and think about what I can do the 10.  May the next 10 be more about other people...but the twenties are about being selfish, right? ;-)

So, in no particular order, what I can remember of what I accomplished in my twenties (with still a year to go!)
1. I dated, moved in with, and married my best friend and the best husband a girl could ask for.
2. I lived with the best roommates and graduated from the college I dreamed about going to.
3. I went to the 2002 Olympics and made unforgettable memories with some of my best friends.
4. I fulfilled my dream of living in Washington, D.C. and travelled around the east coast.
5. I bought my first, second, & third cars.
6. I became a teacher & got a job at a school that I like.
7. I bought a house near my family.
8. I got my passport and used it. My mom wanted me to include that I survived an 18 hour flight to Australia without any alcohol or drugs. :-)
9. I drove across the United States with my mom and Victoria (thanks Becky!).
10. I started my masters program, finished my administrative credential, and started my thesis. And Lauren made a good point, I should be finishing my thesis in my 20s, I still have a year. :-)
11. I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy, happy baby girl.
12. I adopted two dogs.
13. I ran several 5Ks and in the Rock N Roll Relay.
14. I went to Spring Training in Scottsdale.
15. I learned about love and what it means to truly love someone more than myself.  Eye opening, but awesome.

I've spotted an error, and I'd like to point it out. It's in #10. I think what you meant to say is that while in your twenties you FINISHED your thesis......because I know you can and will do it!!! :)
